Is the soft power category for Thailand DTV visas still valid?

Is the soft power category for Thailand DTV visas still valid?

I was looking at some Muay Thai gyms for the DTV but I keep reading stories that people are being harassed by immigration if they used soft power to get their DTV. So is it worth applying next year or expected to be canceled (or so difficult to pass immigration that it's worthless)?

The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a long-stay visa that allows foreigners to remain in Thailand while participating in specific approved activities. One of the available pathways is the “soft power” category, which covers activities such as Muay Thai training, cooking schools, and other cultural or educational programs, supported by enrollment documents or confirmation from a provider.

Top Answer/Comment:

The soft power category for DTV is being treated as unreliable by Thailand immigration and even the Thailand embassies are rejecting many soft power applications without any reason given. They claimed anyone who wanted to learn Thai cooking, language, or Muay Thai could stay in Thailand for 5 years with the DTV, but in the past year its credibility has been damaged.

Dozens or maybe hundreds of rejections in the past several months. Even for those who were approved, after they arrived in Thailand some report being interrogated heavily by immigration officers, similar to the story shared on Reddit at the top of this post.

I should mention that visa agencies are still heavily marketing the DTV as easy to get, but many of them submit applications using fake bank papers or other fraudulent documents, which is a large part of why Thailand immigration is now unhappy with this visa category.
