Who does "they" refer to when Rusty says "back row, silver sedan" in Ocean's Eleven?
After breaking his parole in Ocean's Eleven (2001), Danny Ocean is arrested and makes up
with his ex-wife Tess before going back to prison. Months later,
he’s released in a worn-out suit and picked up by his longtime partner
Rusty, who spent all the money on a flashy suit and showed up in a
beat-up car, leading to Danny’s sarcastic comment:
Danny: Where are they?
Rusty: Back row, silver sedan. Ten o'clock.
Then, Danny finds Tess sitting in the back of a silver sedan.
Who exactly are "they" here?
Top Answer/Comment:
"They" are Benedict's hired 'goons', evidently intending to follow Danny to see if he leads them to Benedict's missing millions. Rusty apparently spotted them sitting in the car park, trying (and failing) to look inconspicuous.
He drives off. In the back, Danny takes Tess's hand in
his. Notices a silver wedding band on it.
DANNY: You said you sold this.
TESS: That's what I said.
DANNY: Liar.
TESS: Thief.
As they drive away...... another car STARTS its ENGINE begins to follow. At
the wheel: Benedict's goons.
Ocean's Eleven Script

We met these guys (listed in the credits as "Plainclothes Goon #1" and "Plainclothes Goon #2") a little earlier in the film, guarding Danny as he was ostensibly being beaten up.
